Godfrey Sapula sets sights on higher coaching goals after CAF A License
Mamelodi Sundowns youth coach Godfrey Sapula, who is currently doing his CAF A License, has his sights set on even higher coaching goals.
The first phase of the course being hosted by SAFA in Johannesburg started on November 13th and will end on the 20th.
Top coaches from the DStv Premiership like Gavin Hunt, Steve Barker and Eric Tinkler are in attendance.
GODFREY SAPULA WANTS TO COACH IN THE PSL AND JUNIOR NATIONAL TEAMS
The Sundowns legend, Sapula, has spelt out his aspirations once he is armed with the coveted CAF A License.
“I have the ambition to see myself coaching at the highest level which is the PSL and beyond. Also junior national teams,” said Sapula.
“I really have the ambition, but I want to do the best as possibly as I can where I’m placed. As of now, I am with the academy at Mamelodi Sundowns. I’m happy to be there and to do my best. But I’m ambitious and want to coach at the highest level.”
“If you don’t have an ambition to grow and to coach at the highest level, then I feel you will be in the wrong space.
“Obviously, for me, the first thing is that I focus on doing the best I can wherever I’m placed. You’ve got to be driven by passion to do what you love.”
GODFREY SAPULA OPEN TO COACHING ANYWHERE IN AFRICA
Sapula further revealed that he will be open to new challenges of coaching outside of South Africa in the African continent.
The CAF A license permits the holder to coach and sit on the technical bench anywhere in Africa.
“The sky is the limit, you cannot limit yourself. Whatever the future that can bring, I’m ready,” Sapula added.
