Chiefs chairman Dr Motaung sheds light on his current role 

With his children running the show at Naturena, Kaizer Chiefs chairman Dr Kaizer Motaung has revealed what his current role is at the club.

The legendary Chiefs founder shed light on his evolving role within the club, emphasising his transition from active management to a more hands-off, mentorship-driven approach.

Kaizer Motaung Jr was appointed as the club’s sporting director in July 2021, while Bobby Motaung is a football manager. Jessica Motaung is the head of marketing and commercial director, whereas Kemiso Motaung is the head of digital.

DR KAIZER MOTAUNG EXPLAINS HIS ROLE AT KAIZER CHIEFS 

Speaking at the legends luncheon at the FNB Stadium, Dr Motaung said: “… I have now given over the baton to them [children] to continue with the journey.

“So, it is their responsibility on their shoulders. And of course, I can only stand in the wayside look at them, and support them.

“I will support them in whatever way I would. I will support their initiative to ensure that this brand continues to grow by leaps and bounds.”

The 79-year-old was recently inducted into The South African Hall of Fame. He took his rightful place among the country’s highest echelons of honour within The South African Hall of Fame.

KAIZER CHIEFS FANS PUTTING PRESSURE ON THE CLUB’S HIERARCHY  

Amakhosi’s hierarchy have been under pressure from their fans, as the club hasn’t won any major title in nine years. 

As a result, fans resorted to violent behaviour as a way of expressing their dissatisfaction with how the club is run.

Since the 2023/24 season started, the Soweto giants faced the PSL disciplinary committee on three occasions. This was to answer to charges of spectator misconduct.

To add to that, the Glamour Boys found themselves playing their home league fixture against Cape Town Spurs without spectators on Wednesday, 8 November 2023.
