Motsepe Foundation Championship Nedbank Cup qualification fixtures revealed

The Motsepe Foundation Championship Nedbank Cup qualification fixtures have been revealed by the PSL.

The draw was conducted on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at the PSL headquarters in Parktown and was streamed live on the PSL Facebook page.

The qualification stage will see teams from NFD teams battle it out for a spot in the Round of 32.

The matches will be played mid-week on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 and Wednesday, December 6, 2023. The PSL will confirm the venues and kickoff times in due course.

The procedure for the draw was a normal one as there were no seeded teams. The first ball to be picked was a home side, while the second ball was an away side.

Milford FC will host newcomers Upington City FC, while Marumo Gallants will be on the road to face Platinum City Rovers. Another new kid on the block, Orbit College will take on JDR Stars.

Then it will be Polokwane vs Gauteng when Magesi FC lock horns against Pretoria Callies, Baroka FC will welcome NB LaMasia and Venda Football Club host University of Pretoria.

Casric Stars will be aiming to reach the Last 32 of the competition once again this season when they take on Hungry Lions. Black Leopards will then travel to KZN to take on Maritzburg United.

HOW MOTSEPE FOUNDATION CHAMPIONSHIP TEAMS FARED LAST SEASON IN THE NEDBANK CUP

Last campaign, the NFD teams didn’t have a good run as they struggled in the competition. The second tier league was represented by Magesi FC, Cape Town All Stars, Pretoria Callies, Polokwane City FC, Casric Stars, Baroka FC, Cape Town Spurs and Venda Football Club.

The trio of CT Spurs, Casric and Venda progressed to the next round of the competition, but their campaigns ended in the Round of 16 as they were all eliminated.
