Ex-Mamelodi Sundowns winger Ali Meza joins new club

With hopes of reviving his footballing career, former Mamelodi Sundowns FC and Maritzburg United winger Ali Meza has joined a new club.

The 32-year-old returned to his home country, Venezuela after parting ways with Maritzburg at the end of the last season. The Team of Choice had been relegated from the DStv Premiership League to the Motsepe Championship League.

He had joined the side in the midseason, hoping to help the club turn things around. He went on to register 17 appearances, including featuring in the PSL promotional playoffs and scored three times.

This was his second stint with the KZN outfit having been with them in 2020 on loan from the Tshwane giants.

Meza signed for Bafana Ba Style in 2018 from the Bolivian side Club Deportivo Oriente Petrolero. He spent two seasons at Chloorkop.

He registered 25 appearances across all competitions, scoring twice and assisting four times.

During his time at Chloorkop, he won two ABSA Premiership League titles [DStv Premiership League], the Nedbank Cup and the Telkom Knockout Cup.
