AmaZulu FC suffer double blow ahead of Carling Knockout semis

AmaZulu FC have suffered two major blows ahead of their Carling Knockout Cup semi-final clash against TS Galaxy.

Usuthu will welcome the Rockets on Sunday, 3 December at the Moses Mabhida Stadium with kickoff set for 3:00 pm. This will be the second meeting between the two sides in this campaign having already locked horns in the DStv Premiership

The KZN side got the better of Galaxy with a 1-0 scoreline. Augustine Kwem scored the solitary goal to haunt his former side.

AMAZULU TO MISS THE SERVICES OF MALULEKA AND MOTSHWARI IN CARLING KNOCKOUT

Usuthu will have to make do without Ben Motshwari and George Maluleka who are nursing injuries.

The duo wasn’t training with the team on Wednesday during the media open day.

Motshwari has been a regular for Usuthu and his arrival has given them a boost in the midfield. He has featured in seven matches in all competitions and missed only one match since signing for the KZN.

Meanwhile, just like Motshwari, Maluleka has also amassed seven appearances in this season even though he’s been hit by a couple of injuries.

On the other hand, Usuthu welcomed Taariq Fielies and Veluyeke Zulu back in training. The duo was involved in training when the media visited Usuthu on Wednesday.

However, it is still uncertain whether they will be fit enough to be in action on Sunday. Martin is hoping to have them as additional options when he selects his line-up.

TS Galaxy will also miss the services of their regular midfielder Mlungisi Mbunjana who is suspended.

The other semi-final between Richards Bay FC and Stellenbosch will take place on Saturday, 2 December. The match will be played at the King Zwelithini Stadium at 3:00 pm.
