Rulani Mokwena identifies TP Mazembe dangermen

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena has identified TP Mazembe’s dangermen ahead of their CAF Champions League clash.

The two African giants will renew rivalry on Saturday in a Group A encounter. The duo didn’t meet in the Africa Football League which was won by Sundowns.

Kickoff at the Stade TP Mazembe is at 3pm.

Heading into the second group stage match, Sundowns will be hoping to make it two wins out of two after defeating Nouadhibou FC of Mauritania 3-0.

On the other end, Mazembe will be aiming to get their first win of the campaign following their 1-0 loss against Egyptian side Pyramids FC.

The last time the two sides met Sundowns overpowered the DR Congo powerhouse back in the 2021 Champions League group stages. Masandawana won 3-1 on aggregate.

RULANI MOKWENA NAMES TP MAZEMBE DANGERMEN

Mokwena and his charges are aware that they are facing a tough side with good quality players. The Soweto-born mentor is also aware that the host’s fans will make the environment very hostile for them.

“They’ve got some very good players Philippe Kinzumbi, Adama Traoré and maybe Abdallah Fofana upfront,” said Mokwena.
