AmaZulu FC to miss in-form striker in Sundowns clash
AmaZulu FC will be without the services of their in-form striker when they encounter Mamelodi Sundowns in the midweek.
Usuthu will host Masandawana in the DStv Premiership match on Wednesday, 6 December at the King Zwelithini Stadium.
Both two teams will be seeking to bounce back after suffering defeats in the past weekend.
AmaZulu were downed 3-2 at home by TS Galaxy in the Carling Knockout Cup semi-final while Sundowns lost 1-0 away to TP Mazembe in the CAF Champions League.
The Tshwane giants are still topping the log standings with 27 points after nine matches while the KZN side is 10th with 15 points after 12 games.
AMAZULU TO MISS AUGUSTINE KWEM AGAINST MAMELODI SUNDOWNS
Pablo Franco Martin won’t have Augustine Kwem in his options for the striking department. The Nigerian striker will be serving a one-match suspension after accumulating four yellow cards.
Kwem has found the back of the net on three occasions in the last three matches in all competitions.
He rattled in a hat-trick when his side crushed Golden Arrows 3-1 in a league match three weeks ago. He also scored in the previous match when Usuthu lost to the Rockets on Sunday.
Meanwhile, George Maluleka and Ben Motshwari weren’t part of the team in the last match. They’re unlikely to feature against the Brazilians on Wednesday.
On the other hand, Sundowns will have to make do without Bongani Zungu who’s also suspended for the outing.
The former Rangers midfielder will be serving his second match-ban after he received a red card in a CKO match against TS Galaxy.
However, Rulani Mokwena has received a major boost with the return of Marcelo Allende. The Chilean maestro was suspended in their previous league match against SuperSport United.
