AmaTuks coach expresses delight over signing ex-Pirates winger

AmaTuks head coach Tlisane Motaung has expressed his delight over signing an ex-Orlando Pirates winger.

The Pretoria-based side has had an inconsistent start to the 2023/24 Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Tuks won six games, drew six while losing three after 14 games. They sit fourth on the log with 23 points.

At the start of the season, AmaTuks signed a handful of players as they gun for automatic promotion to the DStv Premiership.

Amongst players that signed for Tuks are Thabang Sibanyoni, Promise Mkhuma, Sihle Gum, Tebogo Makungo, Thulani Zandamela, Athenkosi Tonisi, and Siyavuya Mdevulana.

The Students have moved swiftly to sign Maselaelo Seanego on a free transfer after he parted ways with Marumo Gallants at the end of last season.

“We are quite happy with how results have been going lately, even though we are not where we want to be,” Motaung told FARPost.

“We would have loved to start the season with a bit more consistency to collect more points. There’s still a long way to go before the season ends.

“So we analysed the team up to this point and checked where we’re lacking and we felt the left-back position needed attention.

“We brought in Maselaelo Seanego and we think he’s a player who can help us a lot with his qualities. He’s a quick and skilful player who can be vital in both defence and attack.

“Other than that, I think we are sorted in almost every position and we shouldn’t be that active in the January transfer window.”

The 29-year-old was in the books of Pirates during the 2015/16 season before leaving the club in August 2017 due to struggles with game time.
