Orbit College drop points as Baroka return to winning ways
Orbit College dropped crucial points in the Motsepe Foundation Championship after playing to a 2-2 draw against AmaTuks at Tuks Stadium on Tuesday.
The North-West-based outfit remained top of the Motsepe Foundation log with 30 points despite failing to collect the maximum points.
Orbit College have had an impressive start to life in the second-tier after gaining promotion from the ABC Motsepe League at the start of the campaign.
“The Mswenko Boys”, as they are affectionately known, have won nine, drew three, and lost five of 17 matches they have played.
Elsewhere, Baroka FC returned to winning ways with a 2-1 win over Maritzburg United on Tuesday at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.
Before winning against the Team of Choice, Bakgakga suffered a slender 1-0 loss to Milford FC on Saturday, 16 December.
The Limpopo-based side is sitting third on the league table with 27 points after claiming seven wins, drawing six times, and losing on four occasions.
MAGESI FC END UPINGTON CITY’S UNBEATEN RUN
Meanwhile, Upington City succumbed to a disappointing 2-1 loss against Magesi FC at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday.
Before they clashed with Magesi, Upington had been unbeaten in 11 matches in the NFD with their loss in the league dating back to the 30th of September against Black Leopards.
In KZN, Milford FC thrashed Black Leopards 4-2 at Chatsworth Stadium in a six-goal thriller. Milford is languishing in the 12th spot on the log with 19 points after 17 games.
