Christian Saile draws comparison between Molefi Ntseki and Cavin Johnson

Kaizer Chiefs attacker Christian Saile has drawn a comparison between the coaching style of Molefi Ntseki and Cavin Johnson.

Ntseki was shown the exit door at Naturena in October following a poor start to the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.

The former Bafana Bafana mentor was only in charge for a few months after being appointed as the head coach in June 2023.

Ntseki’s turbulent start to the campaign saw Chiefs lose out on the first two silverware in the new season. Amakhosi were knocked out of the MTN8 by Mamelodi Sundowns. They later crashed out of the Carling Knockout Cup after losing against AmaZulu FC.

As a result, Ntseki was attacked several times by the club’s highly demanding club supporters who threw missiles at him.

The Bloemfontein-born coach was eventually relieved of his duties at Chiefs and Cavin Johnson took over on an interim basis.

Having worked with Ntseki and Christain Saile at Chiefs, Saile has drawn a comparison between the two tacticians.

“The difference is with the systems we play. Previously the wingers would invert but they now expect the wingers to stay wide,” Saile said when asked about the two coaches.

“Wingers must have a one-on-one with defenders now and with that there are more possibilities to score goals.”

In the current campaign, Saile has featured in 17 appearances in all competitions for Chiefs scoring three goals while making one assist.

The Congolese international joined the Glamour Boys during the January transfer window this year from the Zambian side Rangers.

Saile who has been used as a second-half substitute in most games for Chiefs is competing with Pule Mmodi, Ashley Du Preez, and Tebogo Potsane for a place in the starting line-up.
