Another ex-DStv Premiership leaves La Masia after Augustine Mahlonoko

Motsepe Foundation Championship side NB La Masia has offloaded yet another ex-DStv Premiership player, just a week after former Orlando Pirates midfielder Augustine Mahlonoko left.

The Westbury-based side has had an inconsistent start to 2023/24 as they sit 10th on the Motsepe Foundation log.

La Masia registered five wins and drew seven while losing on five occasions after 17 games played. In their recent league match, they played to an entertaining 2-2 draw against Venda FC at Isak Steyl Stadium on Tuesday, 19 December.

Last week, FARPost reported that Mahlonoko had parted ways with the Daine Klate-coached team. The talented midfielder has been with the club for over a year after signing on a free transfer in July 2022.

TLOTLO LEEPILE IS THE LATEST PLAYER TO LEAVE LA MASIA

With La Masia seemingly struggling for consistent form, this publication understands that Tlotlo Leepile is the latest player to leave NB La Masia.

Leepile spent only six months since signing with La Masia on a free transfer after parting ways with Sekhukhune United.

The 27-year-old forward has had a poor start to life at La Masia after featuring in just four games without finding the back of the net.

With the Leepile experiencing a goal drought in La Masia colours, the attacker has been shown the exit door at the club.

“Tlotlo Leepile is the latest player to leave La Masia after Augustine Mahlonoko,” a source close to the club told FARPost.

“Obviously, Leepile is struggling for game time and expectations were high after he played in the DStv Premiership with Sekhukhune United last season.”

“So the team would have to look elsewhere for a reliable goal scorer who can help the club turn their fortunes very soon.”
