Another Zimbabwean star set for DStv Premiership trial stint
With Dynamos FC forward Emmanuel Paga trialling at a DStv Premiership outfit, another Zimbabwe star is set for a trial stint in January.
Ghanaian striker Emmanuel Paga has been trying his luck at Polokwane City, hoping to be signed during the January window.
Paga’s contract with Dynamos FC ends on 31 December, but he is already trying his luck at a DStv Premiership outfit.
Moreso, it has emerged that another Dynamos player, Frank Makarati, is set for a trial stint in the DStv Premiership.
WHERE THE ZIMBABWEAN STAR IS SET TO TRY HIS LUCK
Makarati has been captain of the Harare outfit, leading them to the 2023 Chibuku Super Cup triumph.
A source at the club told FARPost that four PSL clubs inquired about the centre-back. The source added that he could be heading to Moroka Swallows for trials early next month.
The gangly defender played 27 out of 34 matches for Dynamos last season. They, therefore, conceded the least number of goals.
Meanwhile, the other Zimbabwean players who had been linked with DStv Premiership clubs have chosen otherwise.
Goalkeeper Donovan Bernard snubbed all interests as he renewed his contract with Chicken Inn FC.
SuperSport United and Polokwane City FC were aiming to bolster their squads by signing him during the January transfer window.
SuperSport United still want to beef up its goalkeeping department, which has Ricardo Goss and Washington Arubi.
On the other hand, Walter Musona, who at some point was linked with a sensational move to Kaizer Chiefs, found a new home. Musona was in the books of FC Platinum since 2022. But he has opted to leave the club after a fallout with coach Norman Mapeza.
He recently signed for Simba Bhora, who will be in their second season in Zimbabwe’s PSL. The talented attacker is set to be unveiled in January.
