Sekhukhune United pondering big decision on future of highly-rated attacker
Sekhukhune United are pondering a big decision on the future of a highly-rated attacker as the January transfer window edges closer.
Babina Noko have had a tempestuous start to the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season. As a result, they sit 11th on the log table with 17 points.
Sekhukhune have registered five wins in the league, drawing twice while losing seven times in 14 games played. The inconsistent start to the campaign saw them sack head coach Brandon Truter.
Lehlohonolo Seema, who started the season in charge of Polokwane City, came in as a replacement.
With the Limpopo-based side looking to build a formidable winning team, indications are that they’re contemplating axing a highly-rated forward Kgomotso Mosadi.
FUTURE UNCERTAIN FOR KGOMOTSO MOSADI AT SEKHUKHUNE UNITED
Sekhukhune hierarchy are believed to be having discussions on the possibility of releasing or loaning out Mosadi a few months after he joined the club.
Mosadi joined the Simon Malatji-owned team from the Motsepe Foundation Championship side Casric Stars.
The 25-year-old forward was impressive in the 2023 Nedbank Cup against top-flight teams and scored six goals in the tournament.
He has struggled to live up to expectations in his first season in the Premiership after playing in nine games in all competitions without scoring any goal.
“Sekhukhune United are seriously considering offloading Kgomotso Mosadi,” a source close to the club told FARPost.
“I mean it’s quite clear that he’s struggling to adapt in the elite league after showing immense potential in the NFD last season.
“The fact that halfway through the season he just played seven games in the league and hasn’t scored any goal doesn’t sit well with the management. Also at this moment, it’s unclear if the club wants to release him permanently or on a loan move.”
