DStv Premiership stars in AFCON 2023

The upcoming AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast will see several DStv Premiership stars representing their respective nations. This will be an opportunity to showcase their skills and talent on an international stage.

A total of 33 DStv Premiership stars will be in action playing for their nations. The tournament begins on 13 January up until 11 February as the 24 teams will battle it out for the African crown.

DSTV PREMIERSHIP STARS HEADING TO AFCON

The reigning league champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, have many players at AFCON as they boast of 11 players. They will be representing Bafana Bafana, and only Peter Shalulile will be with Namibia.

The stars include Ronwen Williams, Aubrey Modiba, Thapelo Morena, Grant Kekana, Mothobi Mvala, Teboho Mokoena, Themba Zwane, Thapelo Maseko, Khuliso Mudau and Terrence Mashego.

Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs have fewer players at the AFCON finals. Edmilson Dove will be representing Mozambique. Midfield engine Sibongiseni Mthethwa is on standby on the Bafana squad.

The Bucs have six players that will be representing the club at AFCON. These are namely Ghana’s Richard Ofori, Deon Hotto of Namibia, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Thabang Monare, Evidence Makgopa and Zakhele Lepasa.

Polokwane outfit Sekhukhune United have three players at the continental showpiece. The trio of Nyiko Mobbie, Badra Ali Sangaré and Rally Bwalya will be representing Bafana, Ivory Coast and Zambia, respectively.

League returnees Polokwane City FC have the duo of Manuel Sapunga and Oswin Appollis. Chippa United will be represented by Elmo Kambindu, Stanley Nwabali, Baraka Majogoro and Lloyd Kazapua, who will be playing for Namibia, Nigeria and Tanzania, respectively.

Rich Natal Boys have Abdi Banda, who will be with Tanzania; AmaZulu FC and Cape Town Spurs have Namibian nationals Riaan Hanamub and Lubeni Haukongo, respectively.

Tshwane side SuperSport United have the trio of Zambia’s Gampani Lungu, Siyanda Xulu and Ricardo Goss, respectively. The Stellies only have Jayden Adams, who will be with Bafana Bafana.
