Morena Ramoreboli reveals his ticket to the DStv Premiership
SA-born mentor Morena Ramoreboli has revealed what will lure him into coaching in the DStv Premiership in the future.
Ramoreboli is currently with Botswana Premier League giants Jwaneng Galaxy, and he’s enjoying a good spell in the neighbouring country.
The 43-year-old guided Galaxy to a league triumph in the 2022/23 season. They’ve started this campaign on a good note, reaching the CAF Champions League group stages.
And on their way to the group stages, the Botswana side eliminated PSL giants Orlando Pirates in the second preliminary round. In addition, Ramoreboli’s men stunned North African giants Wydad AC 1-0 in a Champions League Group B clash in November 2023.
Ramoreboli’s successes in Botswana has seen him being tipped to take a challenge and coach in the DStv Premiership. In addition, in 2023, he was appointed as a stand-in coach and led Bafana Bafana in the COSAFA Cup, which was held in Durban.
Before that, the highly-rated tactician won the COSAFA Cup for Bafana Bafana in 2021.
MORENA RAMOREBOLI SAYS THE PROJECT AND THE VISION OF THE CLUB MUST BE GOOD
Ramoreboli says he will be open to coaching in the South African topflight in the future if he gets a good project and if the club’s vision is also good.
“South Africa is my country, and I love it so much. One day, I would love to see myself coaching a team in the league,” Ramoreboli told FARPost.
“For me, a project must be reasonable, and the vision of the club must be clear. The management should be supportive [bringing in quality players]. We are planning for the future, not only one or two seasons.
“Just like when I joined Jwaneng Galaxy, the project was good, and the club’s vision made things easier for me to join the team.
“It’s all about everyone being in the same headspace about what we want to achieve as a team.”
