Captain Ronwen Williams, Percy Tau, Siyanda Xulu, Veli Mothwa and Themba Zwane represented the players. The SAFA leaders included president Jordaan, Vice President Bennett Bailey, CEO Lydia Monyepao and the HOD David Molwantwa.

“I am here to make sure that every box has been ticked. There is nothing outstanding and that everything is in place for them to focus on football,” said Jordaan in a video posted on SAFA platforms.

“[They must] deliver on football and give us the kind of performances that will make the nation take a deep breath and say we have a team.”

HOW MUCH WILL BAFANA BAFANA GET FOR WINNING AFCON?

“We have to get the team to focus, we have to clear everything. If they win, they get US$7 million [R130 million], if they lose they get nothing. We want the team to focus and perform. We have over a period of time settled this team and we don’t want to waste time discussing unnecessary stuff,” added Jordaan.

Bafana Bafana will begin their Afcon campaign on Tuesday, 16 January against Mali. They will take on Namibia on Sunday, 21 January before wrapping up their Group E campaign on 24 January. They will play their group matches at Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium in Korhogo.
