Sekhukhune United loan out highly-rated attacker

Sekhukhune United have loaned out a highly-rated attacker for the second round of the 2023/24 PSL campaign.

Babina Noko have had a tempestuous start to the first round of the DStv Premiership season. As a result, they sit 12th on the log table with 18 points.

Sekhukhune have registered five wins in the league, drawing three while suffering seven defeats in 15 games played. The inconsistent start to the campaign saw them sack head coach Brandon Truter, who was replaced by Lehlohonolo Seema.

Before taking over at Sekhukhune, Seema was in the books of Polokwane City and resigned due to ‘personal reasons’.

SEKHUKHUNE UNITED LOAN OUT TIKLAS THUTLWA

With the January transfer window currently open, the Limpopo-based side has loaned out a highly-rated attacker. Sekhukhune sent Tiklas Thutlwa on loan to the Motsepe Foundation Championship side Venda FC.

“Tiklas Thutlwa will be leaving Sekhukhune United on loan. He’s already training with Venda FC,” a source told FARPost.

“The thinking behind this loan move is for Thutlwa to get enough playing minutes. He has been struggling with game-time since he joined Sekhukhune.

“I mean, he’s competing with the likes of Sbusiso Vilakazi, [Chibuike] Ohizu, and Tashreeq Morris for a position in the starting line-up.

“So the loan move will be crucial for him to start getting more game-time and get the feeling of scoring again then the team will make a decision come the end of the season.”

Thutlwa joined Sekhukhune at the start of the season from Black Leopards but he failed to cement a regular place in the starting after featuring in seven games without scoring a goal.

In the 2021/22 season, the 24-year-old goal-poacher finished the campaign as the top goal scorer for Leopards in the NFD.
