Black Leopards bolster technical team

Motsepe Foundation Championship side Black Leopards have made an addition to their technical team ahead of the second round of the season.

Despite a slow start, Lidoda Duvha have seen a change of fortunes in their results. They currently sit seven points behind log leaders Orbit Colleague with 13 matches remaining.

Led by coach Solly Luvhengo, the club is currently in position nine on the log. It is their third season in the first division since their relegation from the DStv Premiership back in 2020/21.

JOHN SMITH MAKES A RETURN TO BLACK LEOPARDS TECHNICAL TEAM

The club has roped in well-traveled physical trainer John Smith. Smith has had several stints in the PSL, including at Baroka FC. It is also his second time working at the Limpopo-based side.

Meanwhile, a Democratic Republic of Congo defender is training with the club with the hope of impressing the technical team.

Aristo Tamuzi spent most of his career in Eswatini and played for clubs such as Vovovo, Mbabane Highlanders and Mbabane Swallows. He was part of the Highlanders team that played against Royal AM in the CAF Confederation Cup in 2022. The hard-tackling defender has been impressive at the Leopards training ground in Polokwane.

As it was reported by FARPost, Eswatini international midfielder Philani Mkhonto also spent time training with the club. However, Mkhonto has since returned to his club, Mbabane Highlanders, as negotiations between the two clubs continue.

This publication has reliably gathered that Leopards are keen on signing both players.

But the trick could be that only one foreign sport is available in the current transfer window period. This could see one of the two players, more likely Tamuzi, being loaned out until the end of the season.
