Nedbank Cup Last 32 draw revealed

The Premier Soccer League conducted the draw for the 2024 Nedbank Cup last 32 in Sandton, Gauteng on Thursday.

The fixtures for this year’s Nedbank Cup last 32 will commence on Tuesday, 20 February and also take place at the weekend of 24/25 February. The final is scheduled for Saturday, 1 June 2014, a week after the completion of the DStv Premiership season.

The competition consists of 16 DStv Premiership clubs, eight from the Motsepe Foundation Championship and eight from the SAFA leagues. The competition has also changed the tag line from “Ke yona” to “Ke yona Ya Rona”.

Teams from the SAFA structures are; FC Ravens [Eastern Cape], D’ General [Free State], Madridtas [Limpopo], NC Professionals [Northern Cape], Spain FC [North West], and Paarl United [Western Cape]. The representative from Mpumalanga will be confirmed in due course.

Platinum City Rovers, JDR Stars, NB La Masia, Hungry Lions, Pretoria Callies, University of Pretoria, Milford FC and Maritzburg United all represent the first division teams.

Orlando Pirates are the defending Champions of the Nedbank Cup following a 2-1 win against Sekhukhune United at Loftus Versfeld Stadium. It was their fourth “Ke Yona Ya Rona” title.

HOW THE DRAW PROCEDURE WORKED

All club names were placed in one pot and there was no seeding. In each sequence, the first ball drawn was the home club and the second ball was the away club.
