Possible destinations for Siphesihle Maduna after AmaZulu exit

AmaZulu FC player exodus continued on Saturday as they released midfielder Siphesihle Maduna. His exit comes after a mutual agreement between the two parties.

Maduna becomes the third player to leave the club in the PSL January transfer window with six months left on his contract. Recently, they parted ways with Tercious Malepe and Sibusiso Mabiliso, who are now free agents.

Earlier this week, this publication revealed that the KZN side is set to release many players, and Maduna was on the list.

In addition, Usuthu have welcomed two new players, Sifiso Ngobeni and the return of Zambian striker Augustine Mulenga. Mulenga returns to the club after leaving Chippa United on a mutual agreement. On the other hand, Ngobeni joins the club on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns.

SIPHESIHLE MADUNA’S POSSIBLE DESTINATIONS

The 24-year-old has a great chance of finding a new home soon. This comes after Moroka Swallows terminated the contracts of 22 players on Friday due to disciplinary reasons. Previously, the club tried to acquire the services of Maduna, however the deal didn’t materialise.

Royal AM also showed interest in bringing in Maduna. However, they couldn’t, following the transfer ban that was imposed by FIFA last year. This was due to their conflict with former Kaizer Chiefs striker Samir Nurkovic on an unpaid salary.

Maduna was also linked to Chiefs last year. Club supremo Sandile Zungu remained coy on the future of Maduna as he revealed that a decision will be taken whether the club will keep the player.

HOW SIPHESIHLE MADUNA FARED FOR AMAZULU FC

The AmaZulu FC academy graduate was tipped for greatness after he was promoted to the senior team back in the 2017/18 season at the young age of 18.

All-in-all, the 24-year-old made 86 appearances for the club in all competitions. He didn’t have a successful spell as he only contributed towards 13 goals in five and a half seasons.

Maduna managed to find the back of the net seven times and turned provider six times.
