Bafana Bafana mentor Hugo Broos has explained how he plans to avoid mistakes his side made against Mali going into their last AFCON group stage match against Tunisia.
Broos’ charges will take on Tunisia on Wednesday, 24 January at Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium. The kick-off is at 19:00 [SA time].
Bafana kickstarted their CAF AFCON group stage journey on the wrong foot, succumbing to a 2-0 defeat to the Eagles of Mali almost a week ago. Second-half goals from Hamari Traorรฉ and Lassine Sinayoko broke the hearts of the South Africans.
After the game, Bafana lived to rue their missed chances and minor defensive errors.
However, Broos’ boys redeemed themselves when they thrashed neighbours Namibia with a 4-0 scoreline to climb up the Group E table to second place with three points from two outings.

HOW BAFANA BAFANA PLANS TO AVOID MALI ERRORS
Broos insists that Bafana paid for their mistakes against Mali and they don’t want to see history repeat itself on Wednesday, as it is a must-win game.
“I think the opponents were also different. Mali play football, as they try to build up. And this team [Namibia] don’t build up,” said Hugo Broos in a post-match interview.
“They kick the ball in front and they have dangerous players with the likes of Peter [Shalulile]. He’s an attacker on his own. And the number 10 [Prins Tjiueza] and also the two wingers.
“We did a good analysis of the opponent because we knew that we didn’t have to play depth football that we played against Mali.”
Broos continued: “The boys did very well. Maybe it was not always that we played a very nice football but the results were very important against this opponent [Namibia].
“The way we did it was very good. We scored four goals and again very important in terms of goal difference.”
