EVA NGA BECOMES CHIPPA’S FIRST SIGNING AFTER THEIR TRANSFER BAN WAS LIFTED

This was the club’s first signing in the January window after their transfer ban was lifted by FIFA on Friday morning. The goalpoacher returns to Gqeberha based-outfit after one-and-a-half seasons with the Bucs.

The Cameroon striker didn’t have a great tenure with the Soweto giants as he struggled for gametime under coach Jose Riveiro. He impressed on his debut on the first day of 2022/23 PSL season. He scored the only goal of the match to help Pirates defeat Moroka Swallows 1-0.

What followed afterwards was a disaster as he was firing blanks before he was dropped from the starting line-up.

According to stats, the 30-year-old had better performances when he was with the Chilli Boys. He made 59 appearances in all competitions, found the back of the net 16 times and provided two assists. For the Sea Robbers, Nga played 17 matches in all competitions and hit the target once.

Nga might have re-joined the club at the right time since the league is on a break due to the ongoing 2023 AFCON finals in Ivory Coast. This will give him enough time to adapt and bond with the rest of the team.

To add, Chippa have struggled in the first half of the season. After 16 league matches, they lay 13th on the log standings after accumulating 18 points. They’ve been lacking firepower upfront only netting 12 goals.
