Sekhukhune United sign Mamelodi Sundowns defender

Sekhukhune United have signed a Mamelodi Sundowns defender on loan until the end of the season, FARPost has established.

While they have let go just one player this mid-season window, the Brazilians completed four acquisitions to cement their squad even more as they continue to seek dominance continentally and continue to command domestically.

They welcomed Thembinkosi Lorch from Orlando Pirates, Tashreeq Matthews from Sirius IK, Matias Esquivel from Club Atletico Lanus and Zuko Mdunyelwa from Chippa United.

SEKHUKHUNE UNITED SIGN MOHAMME ON LOAN WITH OPTION TO BUY

According to a source, they have now sent Katlego Mohamme on loan to Sekhukhune United until the end of the season “with an option to buy” if the Babina Noko are happy with him.

This is after the 25-year-old struggled to break into the first team under Rulani Mokwena. Mohamme was on loan at Moroka Swallows during the 2021/22 season and returned to the Tshwane giants at the start of the following campaign.

It appears the center-back was on the verge of terminating a contract with Sundowns. However, the club has eventually sent him out on loan.

OTHER SIGNINGS FOR SEKHUKHUNE

Meanwhile, Babina Noko have also completed the signings of the Namibian international Edmar Kamatuka and Lesotho international Teboho Letsema.

Kamatuka was plying his trade at the Namibian giants African Stars and had been with them for one and a half seasons. Meanwhile, Letsema was in the books of the Lesotho side Linare FC.

As previously reported, the duo could be assessed by the club before the decision is taken on whether to keep them or loan them out for the remainder of the season

However, the decision could also depend on the busy schedule on the table for the Limpopo outfit as they have three competitions to play for the remainder of the 2023/24 campaign.
