SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt has revealed what he makes of the club’s new signing Keegan Allan ahead of the DStv Premiership second round.
Matsatsantsa confirmed the acquisition of the talented defender from Moroka Swallows on Tuesday evening, 30 January.
Allan joins the Tshwane side on a free transfer as he was part of the 22 dismissed players by The Dube Birds.
The 22-year-old footballer is not new to SuperSport. He is one of Matsatsantsa’s products from the SuperSport United Soccer Schools.
At SuperSport United Soccer Schools, Allan developed his football skills. He then left the side to study and play football for AmaTuks.
In the 2022/23 season at Maswaiswai, he made over 30 appearances for the club, where he spent one-and-a-half-year.
Given his stellar performances at Swallows, Allan received a call-up to represent Bafana Bafana at the COSAFA Cup tournament in 2023.

Coach Hunt believes that SuperSport have a better chance of making good use of a player like Allan’s calibre in his squad.
“It’s good to have a solid player like Keegan in the mix,” said Hunt upon the unveiling of the talented defender.
“He knows the club well and will provide valuable depth for us. And at a time when our injury list and suspensions was leaving us too thin at the back.”
Meanwhile, Allan expressed his gratitude to have joined SuperSport under the tutelage of Hunt.
“I can’t express how excited l am. What an incredible opportunity it is to be part of such a wonderful club and a wonderful set-up. I can’t wait to start,” added Allan.
Allan will look to add more caps during his stay at Matsatsantsa.
SuperSport will return to action on Tuesday, 13 February 2024, against Sekhukhune United at home in a DStv Premiership clash. The game will start at 19:30.
