Ntsako Makhubela training with KZN club

Former Moroka Swallows attacking midfielder Ntsako Makhubela has been training with the top-flight club in KZN as he’s eyeing his next move.

Makhubela was one of the players that were dismissed by Moroka Swallows last month after the club’s disciplinary hearing subsequent to the players’ strike due to unpaid salaries.

Some of those sacked players have returned to training with the Dube Birds having reportedly reached new agreements with them.

This includes Gabadinho Mhango, Daniel Akpeyi and Tlakusani Mthethwa.

FARPost has learnt that Ntsako Makhubela has been training with AmaZulu FC since the start of this week. It is understood the midfielder has even taken part in friendly games as the Durban-based side is preparing for the return of the DStv Premiership.

The former Orlando Pirates ball-playing midfielder could be an option for Pablo Franco Martin who said they’d like to improve their offensive part of the game when the midseason window opens.

Meanwhile, Sekhukhune United have also been hot on the heels of the 29-year-old and his future remains to be seen. The Johannesburg-born made 13 appearances for the Dube Birds, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the first round of the 2023/24 campaign.

Makhubela has also turned out for Real Kings and Golden Arrows twice. His first stint with Abafana Bes’thende was permanent while the second was a loan from the Buccaneers.

AMAZULU SIGNINGS IN JANUARY

In the January transfer window, the KZN club re-signed Augustine Mulenga after he parted ways with Chippa United. They also completed the signing of Mamelodi Sundowns defender Sifiso Ngobeni on loan until the end of the season.

They then parted company with Tercious Malepe, Sibusiso Mabiliso, Siphesihle Maduna and Mxolisi Kunene.

AmaZulu begin their second round on Tuesday, 13 February against Stellenbosch FC at 7:30 pm at the Danie Craven Stadium.
