Papi Zothwane spotted at a new club

PSL legend Papi Zothwane has been spotted at Motsepe Foundation Championship side Black Leopards where he is set to start a new job.

Zothwane was recently at SAFA KwaZulu-Natal ABC Motsepe League side Dlangezwa Hellenic FC. He joined the club in October last year, alongside his younger brother Nhlanhla.

But the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows midfielder has made a return to the PSL. He arrived at the Leopards training ground in Polokwane, Limpopo on Thursday and was welcomed by club Chairman Chief Thidiela.

NEW JOB FOR PAPI ZOTHWANE WHO WAS SPOTTED AT A LIMPOPO CLUB

“Obviously after the departure of Peter [Mponda] in a formal environment there must be an assistant. We are very happy with the job that Solly is doing and he is obviously leading the technical team the right way. But he is also requested to get some assistance so we went to get assistance of the highest quality. Not just an assistant who will be a ball boy,” Thidiela told FARPost.

BLACK LEOPARDS COUNTING ON THE EXPERIENCE OF THEIR NEW TECHNICAL TEAM ADDITION

“We needed someone who would make a meaningful contribution so we went to Zothwane. If you check his record with his previous team he has done well. So that is the main reason we have roped in him to be here.

“Of course, we also have an ambition that when the league resumes anything can happen. We are seven points behind the number one team. But we must also focus on ourselves that we need to win each and every game that we play in,” he added.

Leopards will return to action on Wednesday, 14 February when they host Pretoria Callies at Thohoyandou Stadium. They currently sit at position nine on the log with 13 matches remaining.
