Black Leopards star reacts to reported interest after AFCON performances
Black Leopards and Namibia International star Bethuel Muzeu has opened up on reported Interest following his performances at the 2023 AFCON.
Muzeu was part of the Brave Warriors side that finished in the Last 16 in the 34th edition of the AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast.
It was the first time that Namibia advanced to the knockout stages of AFCON. They also registered their first win in their third appearance of the continental showpiece.
The 23-year-old also had a decent tournament, which included the assist to Deon Hotto in the now-famous win against Tunisia.
BETHUEL MUZEU PLAYS DOWN TALKS OF INTEREST FROM DSTV PREMIERSHIP CLUBS
There have been reports of interest from some DStv Premiership clubs and also from North African teams. But Muzeu insists his focus remains on scoring goals for Leopards.
“My focus is Black Leopards. The rest of the things we will talk about after the season. Now my focus is on Leopards,” he told FARPost.
“It’s a big club and deserves to be up there in the DStv Premiership. So my focus is on Leopards and not on the future.”
Muzeu admits it’s a motivation that there is interest in his services. With 10 league goals so far this season, the Namibian says he has not set any target in terms of the number of goals.
“I am a player, and I want to achieve something. So if there is a team interested and I am ready to go, then it will happen,” he said.
“It’s a confidence booster [interest from other clubs]. It means you are doing something good, and people are taking note. So it’s a confidence booster. I will not say [my target], but my target is to get that top goal scorer award,” added Muzeu.

“We qualified for the Round of 16. unfortunately, we went out of the tournament, but overall, it was a good tournament for our team and on my side as well.”
