Latest update on AmaZulu FC trialist Ntsako Makhubela

Former Moroka Swallows midfielder Ntsako Makhubela started training with AmaZulu FC in the past two weeks and here’s the latest update on his trial.

The 29-year-old left the Dube Birds along with several players that were shown the exit door after the players’ strike. This was after the club’s internal disciplinary hearing.

While some returned after they had discussions with Swallows management, Makhubela was spotted at Kings Park training with Pablo Franco Martin’s men as he was eyeing his next move.

He even took part in friendly games they played as they were preparing for the second round of the DStv Premiership campaign.

MAKHUBELA NO LONGER TRAINING WITH AMAZULU FC

But it is understood he stopped on Friday and returned to Johannesburg. And it is uncertain whether the KZN side has made a decision on him.

Makhubela played 11 matches for Swallows this season, scoring one goal and proving one assist.

ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES AT USUTHU IN THE MID-SEASON TRANSFER WINDOW

Meanwhile, AmaZulu welcomed only two players in the mid-season transfer window, bolstering their squad for the remaining part of the season. They re-signed Augustine Mulenga after he parted ways with Chippa United.

The Zambian attacker returned for the second stint having turned out for the club during Benni McCarthy’s tenure.

They also signed Sifiso Ngobeni on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns. The left-back will spent the remainder of the season with Usuthu.

Both players featured in the club’s previous match against Cape Town Spurs away at Athlone Stadium. Ngobeni started the match but was substituted in the 67th when Mulenga came on to make his second debut for the club.

Usuthu also parted ways with Tercious Malepe, Sibusiso Mabiliso, Mxolisi Kunene, Siphesihle Maduna, Mfanafuthi Mkhize and Mswati Mavuso.
