Bernard Parker issues latest update on his injury setback

TS Galaxy veteran attacker Bernard Parker has issued the latest update on his horrific injury that has kept him out of action in the PSL.

Parker sustained a career-threatening injury against Mamelodi Sundowns in the Carling Knockout Cup in October 2023 after a dangerous tackle by Bongani Zungu.

The former Kaizer Chiefs star has missed the last four months of competitive action as he works towards his recovery. Bernard Parker joined TS Galaxy at the start of last season on a free transfer after parting ways with Chiefs.

So far, he has made 35 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals and making four assists for The Rockets.

During his time with the Soweto giants, the veteran midfielder played over 300 matches and scored 60 goals while contributing 40 assists.

“So far, so good, the rehabilitation process has been smooth. According to my knowledge, I’m one month ahead in terms of progress,” Parker told FARPost.

“I’m enjoying myself, every day I’m amongst my teammates, sharing my knowledge and experience as much as I can. At this stage, I’m doing the warm-ups and the passing with other guys; then, I continue with my strengthening and loading exercises.

“I think because of this period I’m going through, what helps me the most is my mental strength, and I hope that the young boys and all the other players are drawing inspiration from it.”

While the ex-Bafana Bafana international couldn’t predict the exact time for his much-anticipated return to action, indications are that the latter should be back soon.
