Sekhukhune, SuperSport end Confed Cup on a low note

DStv Premiership sides SuperSport United and Sekhukhune United ended their 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup campaigns on a low note on Sunday.

Sekhukhune drew 0-0 against DR Congo side Diables Noirs, while SuperSport suffered a 2-1 defeat against USM Alger of Algeria.

Pasha and Kanou scored for Alger, while Tendamudzimu Matodzi was on target for SuperSport.

SuperSport entered the competition after finishing third in the DStv Premiership last season. Sekhukhune went through after losing in the Nedbank Cup final against Orlando Pirates.

In the reverse fixtures, the SA topflight teams were impressive. Babina Noko won 2-1, on the other hand, Matsatsantsa claimed a 2-0 victory.

However, due to their poor performances in the group stages they were eliminated. Therefore, no team in the DStv Premiership will be participating in the Confed Cup knockout stages this season.
