JOSE RIVEIRO ON MELUSI BUTHELEZI’S WELLBEING
Riveiro confirmed that Buthelezi has returned and is currently in a secure environment. He emphasised that the club is providing all necessary support to ensure his mental well-being.
“About Melusi Buthelezi, I think what happened to Melu belongs to a different space than the next game,” said Riveiro.
“Unfortunately, there’s nothing from my side to comment about that. I think it’s a very sensible thing and the club will announce or communicate an opinion and statement or we’ll do it soon about the issue.
“What I can tell you is that he’s back, he’s okay, he’s his fit, he’s in a safer space with us, and that’s what we try to create. I’m not talking about security; I’m talking about mental safety or mental health. So we’re trying, and especially his teammates are trying to help him be back 100 percent.
“As a coach what I can tell you is that he’s looking good, he’s positive and he’s trying to turn the page and move forward. We’re here for him, trying to help him as much and as good as possible.”
