Tanzanian side make decision on Thabo Senong
Tanzanian Premier League side Singida Fountain Gate have announced a decision on the future of SA coach Thabo Senong.
Senong has been the head coach at the club since taking over from coach Ricardo Ferreira late last year.
He initially went to the East African country as an assistant to current Cape Town Spurs coach Ernst Middendorp at the same club. But after the German mentor had a fallout with the club Senong remained to work with Ferreira after he took over.
But following an unimpressive run, the club also parted ways with Ferreira, with Senong now taking charge on a permanent basis.
SOUTH AFRICAN COACH’S STAY AT TANZANIAN CLUB COMES TO AN END
In January this year, Senong told FARPost that his ambitions include securing a CAF inter-club competition spot.
“We’re certain we can achieve our target of CAF competition, that’s our target, become number three, number four. But it’s not easy in this league because there are other extremely competitive teams,” he said.
However, under Senong’s guidance, the club has not produced the desired results in recent times. They currently are in position 10 with 21 points collected from 19 games, including an eight-match winless streak.
