Sundowns discover Champions League quarter-final opponents

DStv Premiership giants Mamelodi Sundowns have discovered their 2023/24 season CAF Champions League quarter-final opponents.

The matchups for the CAF Champions League, including those for 2016 champions Mamelodi Sundowns, were determined following the CAF Confederation Cup draw held in Cairo, Egypt, on Tuesday, March 12th.

However, no PSL teams advanced to the Confederation Cup knockout stages, as both Sekhukhune United and SuperSport United were eliminated in the group phase.

The draw procedure for both competitions was straightforward. CAF separated group winners from runners-up. They also ensured that teams placed together in the group stages avoided each other in the quarter-finals.

According to the draw regulations all teams that finished as runners-up in their respective groups will play the first-leg matches of the quarter-finals at home.

The first leg will be played from Friday, 29 March to Sunday, 31 March, while the second leg shall take place from Saturday, 6 April to Sunday, 7 April.
