Mokwena takes dig at Komphela over laptop codes

Mamelodi Sundowns mentor Rulani Mokwena has taken a dig at coach Steve Komphela over laptop codes claims he made a few days ago.

Golden Arrows coach, Komphela, stated that some coaches he worked with don’t like to share information, citing that they wouldn’t let you close to their laptops and briefcases.

Komphela spoke about this following their 1-0 slender win over Polokwane City in a DStv Premiership tie at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium over the weekend.

Speaking during the Nedbank Cup presser, Mokwena sarcastically took a dig at Komphela ahead of Sundowns’ Round of 16 clash against Maritzburg United on Sunday.

WHAT STEVE KOMPHELA SAID ABOUT COACHES NOT WANTING TO SHARE INFORMATION

“I know of coaches we worked with, you would never get anywhere close to their briefcase. They create four pin codes for their laptops. They hide information like a nuclear weapon pin code,” Komphela told journalists in Polokwane.

Mokwena has since come forward to say that he will analyse Marizburg with the information on his laptop that has ‘five passwords’.

“We are looking forward to it. It should be a very interesting one. A good team with PSL experience with some good players. With a good coach, who’s got extensive experience in this competition and in the PSL,” he said.

“So, we have got to come well prepared. I got an opportunity a little bit last night to clear our game. I also checked out our performance against SuperSport United, and also to check their last game.

“But a lot more games were loaded on my laptop that has got five passwords. So, I will go into that a little bit later today.”

The showdown between Sundowns and Maritzburg will start at 18:00 on Sunday, 17 March 2024.

The winner will cruise their way into the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals, with the hope to go on to win the title.
