Loaned striker Thabang Sibanyoni makes emotional plea to Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns on-loan striker Thabang Sibanyoni has made a plea to his parent club following his impressive form.

Sibanyoni is on a season-long loan at the Motsepe Foundation Championship side AmaTuks after signing at the start of the 2023/24 campaign.

The 28-year-old forward has been in good form for AmaTuks as they continue to push for automatic promotion to the DStv Premiership next season.

Sibanyoni has proven his scoring ability after netting seven goals in all competitions for the Tshwane-based side.

Tuks are sitting second on the league table with 38 points in 21 matches. They are one point adrift of log-leaders Magesi FC who are on 39 points with the same number of games.

With Sibanyoni proving to be one of the key players for AmaTuks this season, he has pleaded with Sundowns to give him a chance.

WHAT IS THABANG SIBANYONI’S PLEA TO MAMELODI SUNDOWNS?

The goal-poacher came through the Masandawana reserve team in 2019 but he’s yet to get a run in the first team. He went on loan to clubs such as JDR Stars, Sekhukhune United, SuperSport United, and AmaTuks.

In an interview with FARPost, Sibanyoni said: “In football, sometimes all you need is just a chance. I also need a chance to play at Sundowns and compete with everyone. For now, I can’t say what will happen.

“They must just give me a chance to compete with everyone who’s there at the club so that I can prove that I can also do what they do.”

Sibanyoni further revealed that scoring at least 14 goals is his target for the remainder of the season.

“I was with AmaTuks two seasons ago where I scored six goals in six months. Now that I started the season with the team, I told myself that I want to score 14 goals. I can still achieve it.”
