Puso Dithejane opens up on his new position at TS Galaxy
TS Galaxy’s rising star, Puso Dithejane, has spoken about adapting to a new playing position on the field of play for the club.
The talented right-back joined Galaxy in November 2023 following his exit from the Kaizer Chiefs DStv Diski Challenge [DDC] team for misconduct.
The 19-year-old was handed his PSL debut in a league match against KZN side Golden Arrows this season. Since then, he’s been trying to establish himself at Galaxy and has made four appearances in all competitions.
Dithejane is a natural right-fullback, however coach Sead Ramovic sees a lot of potential in the youngster. The mentor once revealed that the defender can be very effective in the offensive role, playing as a right winger.
In addition, when the former Chiefs starlet was included in the 2023 Bafana Bafana squad for the COSAFA Cup, stand-in coach Morena Ramoreboli used him as a winger.
In a match against D’ General FC in the Nedbank Cup Last 16 on Sunday, he played as an attacking midfielder, making good runs coming from the right-hand side.
PUSO DITHEJANE ON PLAYING THE OFFENSIVE ROLE
Dithejane says playing as a winger is not challenging for him since he has previously played in that position before. But he admitted that he should up his game and start contributing towards goals, scoring, and providing assists.
“It’s not challenging for me playing in the offensive role,” Dithejane told FARPost. I’ve always been playing right-back and right-wing for a longer period inthe development.
“I’m used to that position and I believe I’m ready to step up, do my best and deliver to that position the coach wants me to play.
“For me, the only thing I have to improve on my game is to get more involved on the ball. It would be great if I start being active in the team’s attack.
“My personal aim is to start helping the team as much as possible and contributing towards goals. It would be great if I start scoring a lot of goals and providing many assists for my teammates.”
