Nedbank quarter-finals dates, venues and kick-off times revealed

The Nedbank Cup is gearing up for its exciting quarter-finals stage and the PSL has confirmed the dates, venues and kick-off times for these eagerly anticipated matches.

Eight teams remain in the ‘FA Cup’ of South African football. Defending champions Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns, TS Galaxy, Stellenbosch FC, Pretoria University, AmaZulu, Chippa United and SuperSport United are all vying for the big prize of R7 million.

The Nedbank Cup quarter-finals will take place over three days in April. “Tickets will be sold through TicketPro outlets at a price of R60 per ticket. The PSL will advise as soon as tickets become available for purchase,” said the PSL in a statement.

ALL QUARTER-FINAL DATES, VENUES AND TIMES

Friday, April 12th: The first Last Eight match takes place in Pretoria between two Tshwane neighbours. University of Pretoria will lock horns with Mamelodi Sundowns at Lucas Moripe Stadium. Kick-off is set for 19h00. Sundowns last won the competition in 2022 and will be looking to recapture it. They face the only lower division team remaining in the competition – AmaTuks. Interestingly, they have only had to deal with Motsepe Foundation Championship teams in this competition. In the Last 32, they took on NB La Masia, whom they beat 6-1, before clashing with Maritzburg United.

Saturday, April 13th: The day features two matches in Cape Town and Durban. Stellenbosch FC will face off against SuperSport United at Danie Craven Stadium at 15h00. Later that evening, AmaZulu FC will take on Orlando Pirates at Moses Mabhida Stadium, with the match starting at 18h00.

Sunday, April 14th: The final quarter-final match will see TS Galaxy FC battling it out against Chippa United at Mbombela Stadium. Kick-off for this match is scheduled for 15h00. The Rockets won the Nedbank Cup in 2019 as a second-tier club and will be looking to reproduce that same magic.
