Ndlovu on how they deal with SuperSport’s loss of key players
SuperSport United midfielder Siphesihle Ndlovu has opened up on how they have learnt to deal with the loss of key players at the club.
Over the past few years, Matsatsantsa have gone on to become a selling team with their relationship with cross-rivals Mamelodi Sundowns growing rapidly in the transfer market.
In the past two seasons with Ndlovu there, the Swanky Boys lost Thatayaone Dithlokwe to Kaizer Chiefs. Amakhosi also acquired the services of Luke Fleurs after he left SuperSport.
Thapelo Maseko went to the Brazilians at the beginning of the current season. Meanwhile, Patrick Maswanganyi and Thalente Mbatha were sold to Orlando Pirates.
Ndlovu admitted the difficulty of losing key members of their squad almost each and every season. However, he stated that as senior players they have grown a “thick skin” to deal with it.
He acknowledged the challenge of welcoming the young players, helping them settle with the club seeking consistency.
NDLOVU SAYS THEY HAVE GROWN THICK SKIN TO DEAL WITH LOSS OF KEY PLAYERS
“Obviously, it’s always a difficult thing to us because we as the club or as a team we have a way of playing and of how one is contributing to the success of the team,” said Ndlovu in an interview with FARPost.
“But SuperSport is about that, producing new players and producing young players.
“So, we have to take it, we’ve got a thick skin now, we’re older. We have to take it and welcome the new ones to help them settle as quickly as they can because we want to compete.
“But players like your Maswanganyi and Mbatha, they were very influential in how we used to play. And we are very happy that they are doing well where they are.”
