Kaizer Chiefs have suffered back-to-back DStv Premiership defeats following their 2-0 loss to Chippa United at a packed Buffalo City Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Amakhosi came to this clash having lost 1-0 to Stellenbosch FC at FNB Stadium in Soweto on Tuesday night.

CHIEFS DECIDED TO HONOUR THE FIXTURE AFTER FLEURS’ PASSING

Following a couple of difficult days at Naturena, after losing one of their players, Luke Fleurs, the club decided to go ahead with today’s league fixture, as players wanted to dedicate the game to their fallen teammate, Fleurs.

Fleurs lost his life on Wednesday night during a hijacking incident in Johannesburg.

CHIEFS MAKE SEVEN CHANGES AGAINST CHIPPA

The Glamour Boys made seven changes from the team that played against Stellies in the midweek fixture.

In defence, Njabulo Ngcobo replaced Sifiso Hlanti, and Zitha Kwinika made way for Dillan Solomons. Yusuf Maart returned to the starting line-up for Sibongiseni Mthethwa.

Edson Castillo was in for Siyethemba Sithebe, and Mduduzi Mdantsane came on for Mduduzi Shabalala.

Meanwhile, in the attack, Ashley Du Preez was replaced by Christian Saile, with Ranga Chivaviro coming in for Wandile Duba.

EVA NGA AND KWAYIBA BREAK CHIEFS FANS’ HEARTS

Bienvenu Eva Nga broke the deadlock in the 21st minute of the showpiece to put Chippa in front.

Sinoxolo Kwayiba added to the scoreline in the 32nd minute to seal a win for the hosts.
