Nyatama shares his thoughts on Augustine Mahlonoko’s qualities
Moroka Swallows caretaker coach Musa Nyatama has shared his thoughts on the club’s young attacker Augustine Mahlonoko’s qualities.
The Orlando Pirates academy graduate is trying to revive his career at Swallows. He linked with the Dube Birds after leaving Motsepe Foundation Championship side La Masia on mutual consent most recently.
Before joining the club on a free transfer in the PSL January transfer window, Mahlonoko was invited for an assessment.
He has become one of the key players for Nyatama as the team is trying to avoid relegation as the season is nearing closer to being wrapped up with eight matches left. The Soweto side find themselves just outside of the danger on the log standings in 13th place after collecting 25 points from 22 matches.
So far in Swallows colours, the 22-year-old has made seven appearances in all competitions. The attacking midfield has managed to find the back of the net once.
MUSA NYATAMA BACKS AUGUSTINE MAHLONOKO TO SUCCEED IN FOOTBALL
Nyatama sees a lot of potential in Augustine Mahlonoko to become a great footballer. The Swallows caretaker coach believes the attacker is very talented, and the club is the right platform for him to revive his football career.
“The boy is still young, only 22. We just need to help him regain that confidence. He is talented, no doubt about that,” said Nyatama.
“Let’s give him a chance. Let’s also try to help the boy with all the negativities and ups and downs he’s been going through [in the past years].
“But he is here to also take his career to another level, Swallows is a good team for him. There is no special treatment for any other player.”
