Thabo Mnyamane poised for new role at AmaTuks
Former SuperSport United and Marumo Gallants midfielder Thabo Mnyamane is set to take over a new role at the Motsepe Foundation Championship side AmaTuks.
Mnyamane has found it difficult to find a new club after parting ways with Marumo Gallants at the end of the 2021/22 DStv Premiership season.
The left-footed attacker, who spent the whole of last season as a free agent, made 45 appearances during his stint at Gallants, scoring four goals and providing four assists across all competitions.
Before joining the Limpopo-based side, Mnyamane turned out for SuperSport United, where he won the Nedbank Cup and MTN8 silverware.
In his four-season spell with SuperSport, the former Bafana Bafana international featured in 74 matches and scored 21 goals.
While the 31-year-old midfielder has been training with the University of Pretoria, aiming to return to competitive football, this publication understands that he has taken over a new role at the club.
Mnyamane started training with Tuks toward the end of last year to remain in good physical shape for his next club.
WHAT IS THABO MNYAMANE’S NEW ROLE AT AMATUKS?
Although the talented winger has yet to announce his official retirement from professional football, he has taken up a role as a performance analyst for the Tuks Women’s team, which plays in the Hollywoodbets Super League.
“Thabo Mnyamane is a big part of AmaTuks, and he has been serving as a performance analyst for the AmaTuks ladies team,” a source told FARPost.
“He’s taking his knowledge of the game and sharing it with the ladies at AmaTuks, which is very good for the club. Mnyamane has a good relationship with the team, and I can say he has a good future with the club.
“Also something worth noting is that he’s yet to retire because he’s still training with the Tuks male senior team on a day-to-day basis. Which goes to show the type of commitment he has for the beautiful game.”
