Richards Bay’s Ntsundwana makes honest admission about facing Kaizer Chiefs

Richards Bay FC attacker Somila Ntsundwana has made an honest admission about facing Kaizer Chiefs in the DStv Premiership.

The KZN-based side is scheduled to face Chiefs in the Premiership on Sunday, 21st of April. It’s a fixture that was originally set for Saturday, 20th of April.

Richards Bay claimed a much-needed 1-0 win against Moroka Swallows in the league at King Zwelithini Stadium last weekend. The win against Swallows saw Richards Bay go five points clear of the 16th-placed Cape Town Spurs.

Bay is currently fighting to move out of the relegation zone after winning four games in the league this season. They drew five and lost 14 times in 23 matches. The KZN side is sitting 15th on the log standings with 17 points.

Their coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi said they would have loved to face Chiefs while the Soweto giants were still sleeping. Vilakazi made these remarks after the Glamour Boys suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat against Chippa United. That match was played at the Buffalo City Stadium last Saturday.

NTSUNDWANA WISHED TO PLAY CHIEFS AN HOUR AFTER DEFEATING SWALLOWS

With the Natal Rich Boys high on confidence, Ntsundwana says they wished to face Chiefs an hour after beating Swallows.

“I think even if we could play Chiefs later after that game [against Swallows], we would have done something because after a win everyone is amped up and the mood is great,” Ntsundwana told FARPost.

“So I think this week, this Nedbank Cup [quarter-finals] comes in a bad time for us because we wanted to continue with high spirit, go on and collect another maximum points, and go up the table.

Asked why Richards Bay wanted to play against Kaizer Chiefs sooner, Ntsundwana said: “I think me saying that is because Chiefs is a big team and everyone wants to beat them.

“Secondly, I think it’s because in our last game, we won and they lost, so going into that game we could have an upper because the confidence is high.

“We would want to work on their weakness. I think we analysed them a lot. When you play against them you have to bring your A-game because sometimes their supporters are more than ours.”
