Agent explains reason behind Katlego Otladisa’s lack of game time at Pirates
Katlego Otladisa’s agent Nimrod Mbhalati has explained the reason behind his client’s lack of game at Orlando Pirates.
Otladisa signed for the Soweto giants in July 2023 on a long-term deal ahead following the relegation of his former club, Marumo Gallants.
The ex-Platinum Stars, Cape Umoya United, Ajax Cape Town, Orbit College and Mamelodi Sundowns winger has only played nine across all competitions in his first season at the Buccaneers.
His lack of playing time at the Sea Robbers has raised eyebrows from his fans, who are wondering why he is not playing following his impressive performances at Bahlabane ba Ntwa last campaign.
AGENT ON KATLEGO OTLADISA’S LACK OF GAME TIME
In an interview with FARPost recently, the 27-year-old footballer’s agent revealed the real reason why his client isn’t playing at the DStv Premiership giants.
“With his first season at Pirates to be quite honest with you, it’s just that people don’t know, Katlego will get his chance. Even when we went and signed the contract, Pirates management told us, ‘Look, we are signing Katlego Otladisa but not to play for this season’,” Mbhalati told this publication.
“Not that is an excuse, had he maybe impressed the coach, maybe he would be playing. And I believe he’s one for the future.
“Remember, he’s on a long-term contract with Orlando Pirates. So, he will get his chance, and he will play. It’s not even affecting him because he knows the truth.”
‘I’M GETTING CALLS FROM EVERYONE ASKING WHY HE IS NOT PLAYING’
Mbhalati went on to state that he’s getting calls from everyone asking him why his client isn’t getting enough game time.
“I’m getting calls left, right and centre from his fans, family and everyone asking ‘why is he not playing?’,” he added.
“I tell them not to panic because his chance is going to come because me, him and the club know what’s really happening.”
