Thidiela confirms big interest in highly-rated striker Muzeu

Black Leopards chairman Tshifhiwa Thidiela has confirmed a big interest in highly-rated striker Bethuel Muzeu.

The Namibian international has been in a good run of form in the Motsepe Foundation Championship as he chases the Golden Boot award.

Muzeu has netted 13 goals in the league for Leopards, and he’s sitting second on the top goal scorer charts behind Prince Nxumalo. The former Baroka FC striker scored 15 goals in the Motsepe Foundation for JDR Stars.

The 24-year-old attacker, Muzeu, was rewarded for his impressive performances after he was named in the Namibian squad that participated in the 2023 AFCON.

With Muzeu proving to be one of the lethal strikers in the PSL, Thidiela has revealed local interest and Sudan for the goal poacher.

“I think we had offers even in Sudan and several teams around Africa even before the AFCON,” Thidiela in an interview with FARPost.

“There are also clubs in the DStv Premiership who are monitoring his progress. He’s a very brilliant player, and he works hard. He can add value to any team.

“I think with Black Leopards, we look at ourselves as a bridge to bigger things; we don’t mind when people want our players, and we don’t stand in anyone’s way.

“But it must not be a situation where people disrespect us, like the guys in Africa. The prize they were offering was disrespectful, and their reason he [Muzeu] players in the lower divisions.

“Playing in the first division doesn’t mean anything; we just look at what the player can do. Whether it’s the first division or the Premier division, it should not matter.”

Meanwhile, Lidoda Duvha are positioned 11th on the log with 30 points and 24 matches played in the second tier. They will be looking to climb up the table when they face Orbit College on Friday at Thohoyandou Stadium.
