AmaTuks coach slams ‘arrogant’ Sead Ramovic
AmaTuks head coach Tlisane Motaung has slammed ‘arrogant’ TS Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic over the comments he made about referees.
Motaung was left furious after Ramovic said underperforming match officials should be sent to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
The German-born mentor made these remarks after losing 2-1 against Stellenbosch FC in the DStv Premiership at Mbombela Stadium on Sunday, 21st of April in a post-match interview with SuperSport TV.
While the standard of refereeing has been a hot topic in the PSL in recent weeks, Motaung has slammed Ramovic for ‘undermining’ the second-tier league.
In AmaTuks’ league clash over the weekend, they played a goalless draw against Venda FC at Thohoyandou Stadium.
The match between Tuks and Venda FC had controversial decisions by the referee Luxolo Badi and his assistants. Tuks scored a goal which was ruled offside and later were denied what looked like a penalty after a Venda FC defender handled the ball in the box.
WHY TLISANE MOTAUNG IS NOT HAPPY WITH SEAD RAMOVIC
“I’m not happy with what the TS Galaxy coach said about referees after they lost against Stellenbosch last week,” Motaung told FARPost.
“How can he say the referees who are making mistakes must come to the NFD? The second division is equally important. Teams have invested millions to gain promotion then he makes such comments.
“It was very careless and arrogant of him to make such comments. Teams [in the second tier] work very hard, what makes him think we deserve bad officiating?
“So I must say I’m disappointed with how someone can undermine and disrespect our league like that. The stakes are high in this league and everyone wants to gain promotion to the top flight.”
