Former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has shared his candid assessment of his successors Rulani Mokwena and Manqoba Mngqithi’s work at the club.
Mosimane led Sundowns to numerous domestic and continental titles during his eight-year tenure at the club. He brought in Mokwena and Mngqithi as his assistants during his time at the Tshwane giants.
When he left for the club in 2020, the two were appointed co-coaches before Mokwena was later made sole head coach.
Since taking charge, Mokwena and Mngqithi have guided Sundowns to continued dominance in the DStv Premiership, securing consecutive league titles and showcasing an attractive style of play. The team has also made notable strides in the CAF Champions League, consistently reaching the latter stages of the competition.
The Brazilians recently made it seven consecutive league titles, the fourth since Mosimane left. They have also won the Nedbank Cup and the inaugural African Football League.
