Banyana Banyana frontwoman Jermaine Seoposenwe continued with her hot streak in Mexico, scoring for FC Monterrey in a Clausura 2024 Liga MX match on Tuesday morning.

Monterrey got the better of Pumas de la UNAM with a 1-0 scoreline in the second leg of the quarter-finals. The game took place at the BBVA Stadium.

As a result, Seoposenwe’s side progressed to the tournament’s semi-finals with a 3-0 win over Pumas on aggregate. Monterrey will now face Pachuca Femenil in the semi-finals of the 2024 Clausura tournament.

JERMAINE SEOPOSENWE SCORES FOR MONTERREY

Seoposenwe’s Monterrey started the game on a front foot, aiming to break the deadlock early in the math. However, the side managed to score in the second half when the Banyana star fired home the winning goal.

Nicole Pérez’s nicely taken corner kick found the talented goalscorer Seoposenwe, who did not make a mistake as she found the back of the net with a beautiful header. Seoposenwe’s solo goal was scored in the 67th minute of the showdown.

JERMAINE SEOPOSENWE CEMENT HER PLACE IN BANYANA BANYANA SQUAD

Given Seoposenwe’s stellar performances in Mexico, it will be hard for Dr Desiree Ellis not to include her in the Banyana squad. Banyana will play two away international friendly matches against Senegal in the upcoming FIFA break.

South Africa will face Senegal on 31 May and on 4 June 2024. The final 23-player squad for the away international friendlies against the West African nation will be announced in due course.
