Michael Morton makes bold claim about CT City’s Jaedin Rhodes
Experienced midfielder Michael Morton has made a bold claim about Cape Town City FC‘s starlet Jaedin Rhodes.
The 2023/24 campaign is Rhodes’ third season playing professional football in the SA topflight. He was promoted to the senior team in the 2021/22 season after impressing with the reserve team in the DStv Diski Challenge.
This season, the 21-year-old has been one of the key players for the Citizens. His consistent, great performances on the pitch have seen him become a regular in the starting line-up.
With one match left to wrap up the season, the talented youngster has played 31 matches in all competitions. He has been active in the final third, racking up five goals and one assist.
MICHAEL MORTON’S THOUGHTS ON JAEDIN RHODES
Morton says he’s impressed by Rhodes’ displays and performances this season. He further claimed that the midfielder is the club’s best player this season without a doubt.
“I’m very impressed with his performances from the first time when I saw him playing on the pitch,” Morton told FARPost.
“He’s very young, 21 years old, I thought he was much older than that to be quite honest. But then I was very surprised when I learnt of his age.
“He’s started almost every game that he played for the club this season. I’m happy that he’s playing so much. For me, he’s Cape Town City’s best player this season.
“He’s been very impressive and consistent in his performances. He’s showing all the qualities that he has on him and he can only improve and get better.”
Rhodes is in line to feature for the Cape Town outfit on their last league match of the season. The Capetonians will take on the champions Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday, 25 May. Kickoff at Loftus Versveld Stadium is at 15H00.
