SuperSport United eyeing move for Casric Stars forward
SuperSport United have set their sights on acquiring the signature of the Casric Stars forward as they look to bolster their frontline.
In recent years, Matsatsantsa have experienced a downturn, struggling to match the competitiveness they had before 2020.
The Tshwane giants have failed to keep their best players, becoming a feeder club for the big three, particularly Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, who have frequently raided their squad.
SuperSport have produced a lot of academy graduates, some of them, who have gone on to become the club’s mainstays.
Gavin Hunt’s side is currently fifth on the DStv Premiership standings with 43 points after 29 games.
SUPERSPORT UNITED EYEING CASRIC STARS’ DECIDE CHAUKE
With one month remaining before the transfer window, it is understood SuperSport have added Casric Stars man Decide Chauke to their transfer wish-list.
The 28-year-old has been with the Mpumalanga outfit since August last year when he signed on a free transfer after parting ways with Chippa United.
Before a stint with Chilli Boys, Chauke played for Baroka FC and TS Sporting.
He has enjoyed a successful season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, scoring 14 league goals. This places him third in the goalscoring charts, behind Bethuel Muzeu (17 goals) and Prince Nxumalo (18 goals).
OUTINGS & POTENTIAL EXITS
Meanwhile, SuperSport United are set to lose goalkeeper Ricardo Goss, who will return to his parent club Mamelodi Sundowns after a two-year loan spell.
Goss arrived at SuperSport when Sundowns signed Ronwen Williams in the past two seasons.
Another Sundowns player on loan at SuperSport, striker Etiosa Ighodaro, has an uncertain future at the club.
Ighodaro has reportedly expressed his desire to avoid another loan move next season. This leaves Sundowns with two options: sell him permanently or recall him to the squad.
And as previously reported by FARPost, forward Abdulrazack Mohamed Hamza could also be on his way out due to limited playing time during his time at the club.
