Tim Sukazi fuels Ramovic’s links to Chiefs with bold statement
TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi has fueled Sead Ramovic’s links with the Kaizer Chiefs coaching job with a bold statement.
A few days ago, reports surfaced about Galaxy coach Ramovic being one of the candidates for the vacant head coaching job at Chiefs.
Amakhosi have been on a hunt for a permanent coach to replace Molefi Ntseki who was fired last year in October after taking over at the start of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.
Despite appointing Cavin Johnson as interim coach to improve the team’s fortunes, Chiefs have struggled to find consistent form.
Chiefs, typically a dominant force in local football, are unexpectedly battling to secure a top-eight finish.
Chiefs have won nine games in the league this season, drawing nine while losing 11 times in 29 matches played. They are sitting eighth on the log standings with 36 points.
Meanwhile, the Glamour Boys were also eliminated from the 2024 Nedbank Cup last 32 by the Motsepe Foundation Championship side Milford.
WHAT DID SUKAZI SAY ABOUT THE REPORTED RAMOVIC’S LINKS WITH CHIEFS?
The disappointing results have prompted Chiefs to search for a coach who can end a nine-year trophy drought.
With different names being thrown around to take over the coaching role, Sead Ramovic is the latest name to be linked with the Chiefs hot seat.
Sukazi has revealed they haven’t been approached for the services of Ramovic. However, he believes the tactician can turn Chiefs into a formidable side.
“I’ve heard rumours that our coach is wanted by Chiefs. These are rumours, we have not been approached,” Sukazi said on Metro FM.
“However, I want a strong Kaizer Chiefs, I love him [Ramovic]. He’s my coach, but he’s a coach that can turn Chiefs around and South Africa needs a strong Kaizer Chiefs.”
